Jeppesen, a unit of Boeing Flight Services, will now offer commercial, business and military aviation operators industry-leading mobile device management (MDM) and mobile content management (MCM) services through a new reseller agreement with AirWatch, an international service provider. Aviation operators using Jeppesen electronic flight bag (EFB) solutions such as Jeppesen FliteDeck Pro for Windows tablets or iPad or Android-based EFB solutions will now be able to receive AirWatch MDM solutions as part of their service agreement.

AirWatch MDM services will primarily be provided on a cloud-based data management system for secure and scalable enterprise use related to Jeppesen aviation operator customer operations. MDM services simplify management of essential mobile device functions, including configuration of device settings and application versions, enforcement of security settings and compliance, secure mobile access to corporate resources and provides a catalog of mobile devices to keep track of tablet devices across large-scale enterprise operations.

Additionally, AirWatch provides a secure “content locker” via their MCM offering, which provides secure document distribution and mobile access to corporate documents, enabling secure access corporate resources on-the-go from Apple iOS and Android tablet devices.

Essential flight information for Jeppesen mobile solutions, including worldwide navigation charts is delivered through the Jeppesen Distribution Manager Pro (JDM Pro) solution for the enterprise. The JDM Pro global management solution distributes encrypted and virus-free operational data and documents efficiently, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of current navigational and operational information to pilots and other users. AirWatch MDM, MCM and JDM Pro work in concert to provide an end-to-end solution for control of EFB data and mobile device management, allowing customers to focus on other operational tasks.
